2026 Bowl-a-Thon

What is Bowl-a-Thon?

Bowl-a-Thon is a time to gather your community, raise funds, and strike down barriers to abortion access in Pennsylvania!

We’re setting out to raise $100K to fund abortions through peer-to-peer fundraising, and we’ll celebrate with a bowling party on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 3-7pm. We’ll reach out to teams in advance to ask about access needs and to assign you a bowling lane and a time slot for bowling!

How does it work?

Step 1: Gather your team!
Send an email to friends inviting them to join you in funding abortion access and bowling to end the stigma on May 31st! We recommend bowling teams include 4-6 members; when they’re larger than that, not everyone gets a chance to bowl!

Step 2: Give your team a name!
It can be silly, it can be serious, and it can even be simple, like the name of your collective or group participating together. Some of my favorites from Bowl-a-Thons past are the Back Alley Cats and the Ovarian Fysts!

Step 3: Set up your fundraising page!
Scroll down and click the “Start Fundraising” button on our Classy page, and choose “Create a team!” Personalize your page by adding your team name and sharing a personal message about why you’re fundraising for abortion access.

Step 4: Set a fundraising goal!
How much can your team raise together? It helps to have a goal that is specific and achievable, so consider how many members you have on your team and think about who you can ask to support.

BONUS! Step 5: Come up with a gimmick for your fundraising challenge!
Think of a skill you have, or something your friends have always asked you to do, and make it part of your goal! Do you like baking? Writing poetry? Maybe you can write poems or make baked goods for all your friends who support you!

Step 6: Start fundraising!
We’ll send out sample language and social media posts that you can use to fundraise among people in your community.

Accessibility Information

Masking is community care! Although we cannot require masking in a public shared space, we will be in a semi-private area where we will provide masks and strongly encourage masking when not eating or drinking. COVID testing in advance is also strongly encouraged! There are also tables outside where folks can eat and drink.

The venue itself is wheelchair accessible, and the semi-private event space is unfortunately not accessible. There will be stairs to enter the space. We will contact bowling teams and attendees in the weeks before the event to inquire about and seek to support any access needs that come up.

The venue is accessible by public transit. Take the Market-Frankford Line to the Spring Garden stop, or the 57 bus to 3rd and Poplar Street. There is free street parking throughout Northern Liberties.
